PROGRAMMES

Our Football Development Pathway

At City of London Football Club, our programmes are built around a long term player development model. We do not believe in short-term success at the expense of growth. Instead, we provide a structured pathway that supports technical mastery, tactical intelligence, physical conditioning, and character development at every age group.

From grassroots introduction to competitive league football, each programme integrates seamlessly into the next ensuring progression is clear, measurable, and purposeful.

Our Development Framework

We structure all programmes around four core pillars:

1. Technical Development

  • Ball control and manipulation
  • First touch under pressure
  • Passing range and accuracy
  • Finishing and shooting mechanics
  • Defensive positioning and tackling

2. Tactical Understanding

  • Spatial awareness
  • Game transitions
  • Position-specific roles
  • Decision-making speed
  • Reading the game

3. Physical Literacy

  • Agility and coordination
  • Speed development
  • Strength foundations (age-appropriate)
  • Injury prevention fundamentals

4. Mental & Character Development

  • Confidence building
  • Discipline and accountability
  • Communication
  • Leadership
  • Resilience under pressure

Each programme is age-appropriate and tailored to developmental stages.
